I'm one of those unconvinced by much of contemporary art, which I see as art being made to impress other modern artists, and not for people to enjoy. I want my art either in someones house because they love it, or in the public square. The less time it spends in a gallery for other artists to fuss over, I think the better.
I want to bring bring the technical exellence of previous eras of art to modern stories, but understand that perfection is made uninteresting with machinery and that pure imitations of the past is a service a bit removed from art.
My current degree will push me to try different styles, and different levels of abstractness in my art, and I expect my opinion will shift over the next few years.
